The 20th anniversary of the XK8 was the focus of our busiest breakfast meet to date. With over 300 Jaguars on display, including an astounding 238 XKs, this was the largest ever known assembly of the model in a public place.
In the museum, a packed lecture theatre saw a brief welcome from Simon Carr of the British Motor Museum, followed by a short introduction to the role and vehicle collection of the Jaguar Heritage Trust, delivered by Jonathan Partridge, manager of the collection. Following this, our guest speaker Peter Leake commenced his presentation ‘The Cat is Back- the story of the XK8’. Peter was Jaguar Dealer Training Manager at the launch of the model and gave an enthusiastic, informative and entertaining illustrated lecture.
During the afternoon, in the Collection Centre, Jaguar Heritage volunteers continued the theme with short talks about the vehicles on display. Outside the building, the X100 was represented by both an early example and the very last XK8 off the production line.
Our grateful thanks go to everyone who contributed to the resounding success of this event.
