A dive in the summer weather predicted a damp July Breakfast Club gathering but around two hundred Jaguars defied the forecast to be rewarded with steadily improving skies during the morning.
The variety on show was astonishing ranging from a 1950 Mark V, through XJ220 and a prototype XJ40 to the present day, which provided a comprehensive contrast to the featured display saluting 20 years of the X-Type. There were over forty X-Types jostling for the limelight on the grassy apron fronting the British Motor Museum, including the unique Supercharged developmental car owned by the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust.
The JDHT also donated a “Trust Trophy” for their favourite X-Type in the display, awarded to a hard-working Emerald Green 2-litre diesel facelift model with 97k on the clock and currently undergoing a rolling return to showroom splendour.
